August 2, 2007 Club Meet Minutes
What a great August meet!
We started off the evening at the new Fast Lap indoor karting track in Mira Loma before heading up to our normal meeting spot. Tony D. and I got torn
to shreds on the track by the others that came. We need more rookies so I can compete! This was such a popular event and the track owners were so
reseptive to us, that we are planning to make up our own trophies and having a quarterly race there. A huge thanks to Charles Park (POWERTRIX) and
his wife for driving all the way from San Diego to join us.
The final note on FastLap is that all EmpireZ members get $5 off of the $25 non-member race fee. This is only valid on our club meet nights as I have
to be there to vouch that you are a EmpireZ member. I plan to be at FastLap before every meet in the future. We meet at FastLap at 7pm and head up to
Denny's at 8pm. Here is info on the track.

Once we got to the meet, we discovered a great crowd of over 20 Z's. Unfortunately, someone forgot to turn the lights on in the parking lot so we
didn't get a chance to closely inspect all those clean MyISAM bays.
Since we missed the early dinner before the normal meet, 9 of us headed over and grabbed a late dinner once the meet was over. We hung around and
Charles and Eddie schooled us on TT basics.
Overall, a great evening.
Reminders: We will have our annual picnic next Sunday the 12th of August. It starts at 11am and will run til about 5pm. FREE!! to all members and $5
for non-members. Hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, drinks...
And for you karting enthusiasts, Adams Kart Track is a few blocks away from our picnic. The track opens at 10am so you could easily race once or twice
before heading over to the picnic. If you don't know about Adams track, it's supposed the best outdoor kart track in the country. If you want to go,
email me so we can plan something.
