My Z is getting a new look.

For those of you who have already seen this post on 3ZC, Oh Well :)

As many of you know, I hit that killer pothole which cracked the hell out of my front fascia. Well, this gave me an excuse to Finaly do some cosmetic changes to my Z which I have been wanting to do. So here is the run down:

Generally, I'm switching my Bomex fascia (UAD-188) for a different style Bomex fascia (UAD-058). It a bit different from other aftermarket ones since it removes the rectangular driving lights and replaces them with round ones located at the base of the fascia. For the driving lights I chose the PIAA P-9000 . These lights should look pretty clean since they have a BMW style lighting to them (ie the main light is in the inside and there is a ring light around the outside edge.

For new side skirts, I'm going with CParks Kaminari style ones with door fillers. For the rear valence, not sure yet but I'm thinking of going with Kaminari one also.

One thing I was disappointed at was the quality of the Bomex fascia. The first one that I purchased about 4 years ago was of good quality (for an aftermarket one) but this one definitely has a few flaws in it. There are some bad trimming on some of the edges and a couple of warp spots on it. Quality control from Bomex has gone out the door apparently. I will have them corrected though.

I'll be having the work done by one of CParks connections down in San Diego which does good custom work since I plan to have some tweaks done to the kit :D (top secret). While it's in for the new fascia, I'm planning on having some nick marks repainted on my hood and that annoying scratch on my passenger side fender. I was also thinking about having my rear wiper removed and the hole bondoed over. I should have it in the shop in a few week.

Anyway here are some pics of the future modifications.

Here are some pics of the PIAA lights. They have the high intensity light on the inside and a glowing ring around the outside edge. Also, they have a narrow 15d light beam.

What it will look like with them in place:

More info to come in the future.

Hopefully everything will tourn out great.

Chuck,

That facia is really nice. I didn't think I would care for the re-location of the driving lights, but on that facia it is very nice.

Your driving lights are great!! I saw your demo at the club meeting on 6 Oct. Those things are gonna look awesome :wizard:

Can't wait to see the finished product.

BTW, this is what they will look like when installed. The position on them on the new fascia is the same location, however the stock fog lights will not be there.

You could probably see it at the next club meeting, July 5th, Thursday, 8pm at Dennys in Ontario. :wink3:

Chuck....am I right by saying that the beginning of your Z troubles started with the PIAA mod?
