February 1, 2007 Club Minutes

We had a great turnout last night. Lots of new faces. The 350z folks have some great rides. A total of 22 Z's and a few more Nissan/Infiniti cars showed up. We also had a visit from Charles Park which is offering us some killer deals through the weekend (See below).

Major items:
Club Elections:
Next meet is our club officer elections so if you want to run for one of the positions, please let us know and we will add you to the ballot. As mentioned during last night's meet, Rick Negrette will not be running for re-election so we definitely need the VP position filled. As currently planned, Chuck, Dick and myself will re-run for our current positions, but please don't think that those positions are considered filled. If you would like to run, please let us know.

Club Dues:
March is also club dues month. $35/year is all it costs. If you visit any of our sponsors, your membership usually pays for itself on the first visit. An example of this was given last night where Chick saved $75 at San Bernardino Nissan on parts. Another example is my 300zx which needs a new MyISAM. I called Coz and Courtesy Nissan who are know to give good deals on MyISAMs only to find out that Corona Nissan was $400 cheaper with our discount. It's no joke, our membership really pays off. Additionally, dues also help pay for our expenses since we are a registered corporation with the state. Finally, dues sponsor our picnic and annual cruises. Dues can be paid to us in person or you can PAYPAL them to us at membership@empirez.com

Future events:
The March meet will be attended by a special guest from Inland Valley Z. He is an electrical specialist and has built his own ECU programs for our cars. If you want to come out and listen to him, we will be conducting the meeting inside of the Dennys at 8pm.

I'm also trying to firm up a date to have Sebastian Chacoff of Specialty Z come out. They are very busy but as soon as I get commitment from him, I will post the date.

Avocado Run:
What appears to be one of our best organized runs in a while, we are on track for this run next Sunday, Feb 11th. We have confirmed people joining from GroupZ, Inland ValleyZ, LAZ32 and San Diego Z32. That is pretty much every club in southern California. It should be a blast.
