My affinity for the Z started with a cousin who had a light blue 1977
280Z. Throughout the years, I been the proud owner 4 Z’s
starting as early as 1986 with my first car being a 1979 280ZX
also known as a Nissan (130). Then in 1994, I bought a 1981
280ZX while visiting my family while home on leave from
Europe when I was in the military. My next Z purchase was in
2000 with a 2nd generation 1984 300ZX also known as
the (Z31). My current Z is this 2012 370Z NISMO also known as
the (Z34) I bought 18 months ago. Funny thing is I was not in
the market to buy a new car. I just happen to be home on this
particular day and got a phone call to get a free oil change on
my Maxima and Armada I bought from Empire Nissan. I took the
Maxima in for an oil change and there she was. The most
beautiful specimen of a car I had ever seen! After test driving
her, I had to have her so I bought her brand new off the lot
with 61 miles on the odometer. I named her Niecy, part of my
wife’s middle name. Niecey came equipped with a 350hp 3.7L V-6
engine, 6 speed transmission, dual Cat back exhaust, 19” wheels,
NISMO labeled seats, very aggressive stock suspension and Nissan
inspired brembo brake package which comes standard in the NISMO
edition. What I love most about my car is how it handles the
curves, especially the winding roads we take on the cruises.
Initially, I was going to leave everything OEM but I have since
been inspired by the West Coast Z Nationals and have made minor
modifications.
