Got mechanic?
Hey all,
Just curious as to who you take your ride to when you need some intense mechanic work done?
Like most of you, I do whatever fixes I can, but now and then I take it to a shop.
I've been going to Mark at Mike's Z Shop off Painter Avenue in Whittier. He's been pretty good with mine.
Who do you all use?

Does MAX have a business number I can contact?
I'd be interested to hear if he or anyone else in our area does 'hybrid' work...like putting an infiniti motor into a Z.

The "MAX" you guys are referring to is Max Ramirez. He does Z work on the side and is usually very busy. He somehow worked me in for my repairs on
my NA.
He just replaced my timing belt, idler pulleys, water pump, and all belts.
Then after pulling my ECU codes, cleared up two of them, one by replacing the EGR valve without removing the MyISAM. I need an MyISAM harness to
clear up the 51 code.
He is a great guy, knows his stuff and charges reasonably, especially compared to a dealer.
I'm totally satisfied.
He doesn't want his phone number plastered all over the www, but I will U2U (Private Mail) you his e-mail address. BTW, he only checks e-mail when
he's at school, no computer at home.
Tell him "Jerry" sent you.

Yuh... I'm getting close to the 120K mark... I'll be needing his expertise soon too. Maybe a TT swap in a few years!

Call escort and let me know how far you get.
I would go with Specialty Z, but the wait is like 3-4 weeks out and they only work on Z32's I believe. And there's always AltZ in huntington Beach.

I've been realy happy with Specialtyz. They are very reasonable but only work on Z32 platforms. The biggest problem is that it's impossible to leave
there w/out spending at least $1k because they have all kinds of purty things hanging from the ceiling just begging to be installed(turbos, labrees,
downpipes, test pipes...).

Max can do that. I think he has already done about 3 NA to TT swaps.
He is currently working on his own, a 1990 2+2 conversion. Having all kinds of internal MyISAM stuff done. Says he is going to make about 600hp at
the wheels when everything is done.
I can't wait to see that.
He also has a Buick Grand National, '69 I believe.
I would definitely trust him with a swap.
