Dick Funk (1939 - 2018)
(Copied from an e-mail by John Moran)
"Dear Empire Z Members and Friends,
It is with a very heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of Dick Funk (Jan 19, 2018).
Dick joined the club in 2004 and became the Treasurer in 2006.
He has accounted for every penny for over 10 years and kept the club in strong financial standing.
As most of you know, he put in countless hours to plan cruises, shows, BBQs, and other events for club members, sister clubs, and fellow Z
enthusiasts.
Seeing Dick's hard work for Empire Z was the reason I became a club officer.
Dick was more than a fellow club member, he was a friend.
He was quick to lend a hand, share a story, or go for a ride.
Dick and I shared an interest in cars and motorcycles. He owned many of them over the years after coming out to California from Iowa as a child, but
many of you probably saw him with his white 1973 240Z.
If you use facebook, a variety of pictures have been posted on my page and the Empire Z page.
Most recently, I visited Garage Company with Dick and John Morton on January 4.
Dick was coughing quite a bit that day and it is believed that his passing was the result of pneumonia.
Service plans have not been set up yet, but it looks like later next week at Green Acres. I will post as soon as I know.
John Moran"
