Dear Empire Z Members,
Great day at Motorsport Auto in Orange, CA. We had 8 Zs gather at Denny's in Ontario to caravan out to the Z-Car West Coast Nationals and met up with
more at the show for a total of around 15 Empire Z members. It was great to see many of the members wearing Empire Z shirts. Cars were parked by
generation and lined both sides of W. Collins Ave. for as far as the eye could see.
MSA provided a tent and table for the club and we got good results. We had 4 members and 2 associate members sign up. We also sold several T-shirts
and stickers and handed out a lot of car show flyers and club cards. We would like to thank Gerry B., Mike R., Bryan G., and especially Dick for
making the booth a success.
We were also represented at another booth. We got a last-minute request from http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/ for a display car and appreciate Empire Z member Fernando Austin for answering the call on such
short notice. His '75 280Z looked great at their booth.
Empire Z had a good presence at the show with our booth and many of the members wearing Empire Z gear. We were also the first club in the U.S. to
receive the new Z magazine, ZCCM. In addition, we were the only club in the magazine from California. Go Empire Z!
Trophies were awarded for 1st and 2nd place in each category and we are happy to report that Empire Z member Bob Heckendorf once again took 1st place
for his original 260Z with under 30,000 miles. Best in Show went to a very deserving Al Allen of Datsun Parts LLC based out of Rancho Cucamonga.
I posted some pictures at www.facebook.com/inlandempirez . We would also like
to thank Susan Redditt for posting links to hundreds of pics and event coverage on our facebook page.
Look forward to seeing everyone at our meeting this week on Thursday, May 2 at 8:00 at Denny's in Ontario.
Cheers,
John M
President
