Feb 7, 2008 - Club Meeting Minutes
Empire Z held it's monthly club meeting last night.
Three club officers were present; Jerry - Dick - Tony. Gerry is out of town on business and Chuck was not able to get off work.
There were a total of 17 "Z" cars present at the meet.
2nd Annual Avocado Cruise
The cruise is through the Temecula / Fallbrook Area. We will be meeting Sunday morning (Feb 10th) (9:00am) at Denny's, in Ontario and will be
following the same route as last year. We will be stopping at the Cajalco Rd Shopping Center, off the 15 Freeway, at approximately 10:00am to meet up
with others located in the area. Some great twisties through Southern California's Avocado groves.
Empire Z will be picking up the bill for lunch for Empire Z members who attend that day at the Pala Casino Buffet. If you have any questions, email us
at empirezadmin@empirez.com
Anyone who attends and joins the club on the day of the cruise will also be entitled to the free lunch.
Club Elections
Elections take place in March. If you are interested in any position, please let Gerry know as soon as possible. After the February meet, we will
mail out ballets for collection in March. All positions are for 1 year terms. Positions are President, Vice President, Treasurer, Sgt at Arms and
Secretary. All current club officers are running again. Any club member interested in being a club officer should contact Gerry.
If no other club members express an interest in running for club officer positions, the current officers will be considered re-elected and no ballots
will be sent out (no sense in depleting the club treasury for a mail out if no one else is interested in a club officer position).
2nd Annual Empire Z Car Show
A tentative date of November 1, 2008 has been selected for the Car Show. This date does not conflict with any other car show/event that we know of
and is not near a holiday. We feel that the weather may be a bit warmer than it was last December and we were very lucky that we didn't get rain.
It rained like crazy on Nov 30th last year.
If there are any other preferences, please let one of the club officers know. Otherwise, we will be contacting Corona Nissan to see if this date will
work for their schedule.
Misc
Later in the meeting, 4 or 5 Dodge Neons & other cars came rumbling into the parking area, some of them parking at the end of the lines of "Z"
cars. Many of us didn't know what to think.
Of course, the parking lot is open to the public, so none of us had any problems with them parking amongst us. Appears that they were just car
enthusiasts and wandered around checking out our "Z" cars. I left shortly after that.
Hope to see everyone at the Avocado Run on Sunday
Jerry
