Bad day for me!
flames_z32 - 9/14/2006 at 19:10

So I'm driving on the center lane to make a left and from the right a van is coming out of a shopping center turning left and doesn't see me on time.
I just got her back a couple of months ago after not having it for amost a year from the blown motor.:banghead:

OUCH!

The pix are kinda small... but that looks pretty extensive! Did the axle snap? Or is that just wheel damage making it lean like that?

Sorry to hear about this...

flames_z32 - 9/14/2006 at 22:47

here's a better picture. I couldn't make them bigger. It did snap the axle. This is actually the second time this has happened. Last time was two years ago parked in front of my house. A CRV hit me on the driver's side and snaped that axle and bent the rear wheel and the two on the passenger side. i got three shinny new wheels. only the front left wheel made it, which was later rotated to the rear right, so now they'll all match.

That really sucks.

Did the person that hit you have insurance?

Hopefully you can get it repaired and back on the road soon.

Keep us posted.

That sucks. Your car is so clean. Maybe you will get a good payout for a TT but I suppose the 2+2 is very convenient. Have you got a quote yet?

Maybe

flames_z32 - 9/15/2006 at 15:36

They gave me their insurance info and I called and was told that they're conducting an investigation on whether or not they have 'enforced coverage'. She said it could mean that they may not have been making their payments or the driver that hit me might not have been on the policy, etc. So they might not cover it. So now I'm scared. I told them I don't have a car, so they said they would try to speed up the process. Judging by the last time it happened, I thinking it might be about $4k. The adjuster is scheduled to look at it next week.
I wouldn't mind getting a pay out. I could move up to a TT.
Thanks for the support!

Ouch!

flames_z32 - 9/23/2006 at 12:30

Okay, adjuster gave me an estimate of $4362, based on used parts. He said it looks like it's going to be a total loss. Another issue that came up was coverage. Apparently the guy who hit me was an excluded driver on the policy. So, i'm gonna have to go through my insurance.

Settlement doesn't sound too bad.

Sucks that the guy was excluded. Do the people that own the car have any money? Maybe get a lawyer and sue them.

Hope it works out o.k. for you.

Keep us posted.

So what's goin on now with the car? Are you onna part it out or restore it or did the insurance co take it. Sucks to hear. Your car was clean too. :ticking:

flames_z32 - 10/2/2006 at 00:18

As of right now, I'm still working on going through my ins. Of course they lag :smash: I really think they're gonna consider it a total loss. So, I'm thinking about buying it back, parting it out, and selling it. I had recently swapped in a J30 VG30DE MyISAM with <60,000mi and had put in a Stage II clutch from Clutch Masters <3,500 mi ago. The three wheels that survived were less than two years old and the tires were almost new. But we'll see. I wanna save my pennies and get a nice convertible Z32, eventhough I always said my next car with be a TT.

Let me know cause my dad may be interested in it as a whole.

bbugarin2 - 10/5/2006 at 11:49

Wow. Looks like uninsured motorist coverage came in handy. I need to increase my coverage.

flames_z32 - 1/31/2007 at 23:19

Okay, so I ended up suing the guy. I gave him one last chance to settle and pay me less than $3,000 and he wouldn't budge. We went to court and I won my judgement of $4950. Next challenge is gonna be collecting the money.

Get a couple of Italians, baseball bat, a dead fish, and a glock. The guy will get the point right away. :g:

Bahahaha.

Don't forget the marment

flames_z32 - 3/15/2007 at 18:58

haha,
I received paper work from the court saying he can pay it in payments so i'm cool with that. Car is still in the shop though! Everytime there is a Z cruise, something is wrong with my car. Last year I took it to Big Bear with a sticky lifter!

MrwassmanNa2T - 3/15/2007 at 22:29

Freaken lifters, I feel you on that note.

Sticky lifter. Psssht. Try spun bearing. :ticking: Now that's a problem. :wavey: Lol. :tumble:

flames_z32 - 3/19/2007 at 18:38

HA HA! That's how it started. I spun a bearing. Instead of rebuilding my motor, which is what I should have done, I bought a used motor. It had a sticky lifter. My car went back and fourth between me and the shop.

MrwassmanNa2T - 3/20/2007 at 21:31

Jesus, how the hell are you guys thrashing on the vg so bad?

flames_z32 - 3/21/2007 at 18:56

Pushing it to the limit one too many times. Plus, I used to street race, dumb mistake! And I messed around a lot, doing donuts and burnouts. I read one time on a Z website: What happens when you redline? Motor blows, etc...... and a sharp pain in the wallet area. Sharp pain indeed!

Before I bought my last Z32 it was stolen and gone for more than 30 days and was in mexico. The only reason why I know it was in mexico was when I pulled the seats out to put in leather seats I found like 37 pesos. For real. They beat the [Censored] out of the car. And that dang thing ended up being a money pit.

Sorry to hear about that but that is dang funny.

BTW, I too ran into some recent MyISAM trouble. Too much boost on a very hot day and my #6 cyclinder said "NO MAS".
