Hi guys. Young Z member at the age of 16. I currently recieved 2 tickets from the past two months. One was for speeding (85 on 65) and the other was for getting caught up in those stupid races in Ontario (fix it tickets, intake and insurance.. I showed the officer the wrong papers). Does anybody know the fines and consequences from these? I have court in a week and I'm just worried. -sigh-..

Unusual username.

Too bad about your tickets.

Don't know about your fix-it tickets, I believe you just fix whatever they wrote you up for and go to a police officer to have it signed off.

Prices vary from county to county on speeding tickets, I believe.

I got one in Oct 2004 for 80 in a 55 in LA county. Got caught with radar. Cost me $230.00 court costs and $16.50 for on-line driving school. That $230.00 included a fee to go to traffic school.

If you can go to traffic school, you definitely should, keeps the ticket off your insurance. If not, the cost of your insurance will go up and stay up for about 3 years. Get another speeding ticket within 18 months and you can't go to traffic school. Then you pay the fine and your insurance goes up.

Let us know how it turns out.

Like Jerry said it'll vary. I got a 80 in a 65 7 years ago and it ended up being about $240 including traffic school. Hope you learned your lesson and welcome to our forums.

Yeah... you are just asking for problems when you go to the 'races'... take it to the track!

iielmosglueii - 11/10/2005 at 23:52

Yeah. I was dumb for even going there. I'll let you guys know whats up. From all the responses I get from people I've asked in person, they say it'll be around 200 dollars.

btw. iielmosglueii is my screen name. i just felt like putting that on just to get registered quick =P.

If I were you I'd take that 280ZX to a Rally-X event... that'll get rid of your racing itch! Plus it's fun as hell! And you can win prizes!

What was the outcome? I remember getting a speeding ticket when I was 16 and I was forced to watch 16 hours of red asphault videos at traffic school. Worst part was having to show up to court with my parents. They beat the @!*% out of me.

I just got a letter from Ontario Police Department about getting caught in the area of "illegal street racing." It mentions the fines for getting caught racing, watching and what not. It says that it is being sent out to all vehicle owners to make them aware of the potential consequences should their vehicles become involved in racing activity. 1,000 dollar fine, jail, and probation for most. You guys think I'm going to have to pay that? It's making me piss in my pants reading it.
